:( ps:good trip!
My name is JIA yongwe from Zhoukou,Henan. I am a orthopedic doctor in Tongji hospital in the north-west part of shanghai.I cared about your blog for long time. From your blog, foreigner and local shanghainese or Chinese can communicate each other very well. You open a window to me. thanks a lot for your hard work. Recently I want to buy a car , maybe Siena or maybe Gol. my wife like Siena better. So siena is a good choice!
I am an international student at Tongji Daxue and my major is information systems. I am very interested in collaborative software and communication tools. Since I am in shanghai and got to know about your blog I read it very frequently and also enjoy the many additional information and tools you provide on you website.
I think the speeches you gave must have been very interesting. So for me it is very sad that I missed your speech at Tongji, because I have not seen any information about it before. Do you have any transcription or recording of one of your speeches? I would be very glad if you could provide it for me. Please get in contact by eMail.
So, have good trip. Sounds like fun. :-)

I often come here to read your interesting storys.I like the way you treat your life, and I appriciate your words:to find something and do it in your power when there is nothing(没事找事)
I need some advise.....I want to study Chinese in Shanghai this July. I hear that Fudan uni is the best uni in terms of reputation but ECNU is better for studying Chinese and is more central. There is not a lot of information on the ECNU website and no one seems to reply to my emails. Fudan seems a lot more professional. As you guys know of these universities, can you give me your opinion? The only problem with Fudan are the rumours...a boy who murdered cats on campus and 2 girls committing suicide?? whats that about??
Also, what are the accommodation and sports facilities like? I am a runner (sprinter) back in the UK and run for my local county club.
I reckon the best place to learn chinese is in Beijing (the cultural central/capital) and not Shanghai. Since you are already coming halfway round the globe to learn mandarin then why not settle for the best? Beijing university (in my humble opinion) is the best for chinese language and cultural studies.
Cheers,
Emily
