Is Olympic Really Coming?

Olympic Game is coming to Beijing in about one month. What does it mean to this country, to Beijing, and to Shanghai?

As the Game is coming closer, I didn’t personally feel too much difference so far. However, the key question is, what exactly do we expect for an Olympic?

Everything is very normal in Shanghai, except the strengthened security in Metro and in Visa application. There are many “new measures” around us, but not many of them are so exciting yet.

Maybe I have too high expectation for Olympic. It is just the day on New Year Eve – it should be very different, but why the Sun still raises at 6:00 AM, and there are still traffic jam every where?

  1. let me know if the DVD version of Kung Fu Panda comes out

    download

    i mean

    thks

  2. Olympic can not bring too much changes to China, but provide many chances to understand the world and be understood by the world for Chinese.

  3. Things always be like this ~maybe you’ve expected too much of the Olympic Games~it’s just a international sports Party, won’t change everything:)

  4. What to expect from the Olympics? Damn good question. I’m wondering if some of the world’s greatest athletes will seek an opportunity to deliver a polemic and tear-jerking China-critizicing speech in the public, maybe even during or right after the medal award ceremony when the whole world is watching and listening.

Regardless of what he or she says is reasonable, the majority of ignorant people in the West will regard that athlete as a hero who has proven the moral courage to stand up to one’s own belief and to send a crucial signal to the world audience.

  5. Btw: Will the Olympic Games be broadcasted live or with a delay of a fixed amount of seconds/minutes?

  6. your thinking sounds so poetic and a bit tragic too hehe!

Why sometimes one day is more important to us than the one before? Just because we feel it different!

A birthday is just another day, the day of your marriage or the day you celebrate graduation or something are normal, but different because the way we feel..

I think its just in our minds hehe!

  7. the closer the Olympics arrive, the more control by the government we see, the more annoying the life is for foreigners.

Before I supported Olympics in China, but Chinese government make me change mind (I speak about measure for Olympics, I do not care about Tttibbet)

Now, I am looking forward October.

  8. There are two many disasters happened in China in 2008, the snow disaster, earthquakes, etc, which make all of Chinese people are united as on to help the country. To us, Olympics is just a sports event, and we want Chinese can be understood more by the outside world especially the western countries. If the others are not trying to destroy the Olympic games in China, I think there is no need for Chinese government to enforce the security checking, and I think Chinese government doesn’t want to affect the normal life of the local citizens and also the life of foreigners.

For us, we also want to normal life to be resumed after Olympics, also looking forward to October

  10. If you work in cargo agent field, you must feel the power of the coming Olympic Games. Customs implement much more strict policy for all import cargo and some new temporary policys about dangerous cargo have been announced.

  11. As the largest developing country, China should seize the chance of hosting the Olypic Games to tell the world how strong itself is, to let other country know more about China, to present the rest of the world that we can!
