Happy Dragon Boat Festival

Happy Dragon Boat Festival to everyone. It is now a Chinese national holiday.

I tend to call it Zongzi festival. Zongzi is the food that everyone eats (well, not everyone, at least not in my family) on this day. It is a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves.

The holiday continues tomorrow (Friday), and ends on Saturday. The cost of the three day holiday is, people get back to work on Sunday.

  1. Tell us about it. We celebrate them overhere too.. Just offer the food for payers and eat at home. No big celebration overhere. We have been doing this for many many years. What did you all do in China on this festival ? Tell us about it.

  2. happy dragon boat festival. =) wonder where i can get my hands on some dumplings. i miss my grandma’s hand-made dumplings.

  3. Yes the returning to work on Sunday thing is something I will never get used to. It’s just so strange to me! Luckily I make my own decisions in China and that makes it a 4 day Holiday for me :)
