Hey, where are my IKEA pictures? I looked into my picture archives and found some. They were taken one year ago, exactly after the new IKEA store opened in Shanghai.

It’s fun you enjoy IKEA. I’m from Sweden myself. Great blog you have here, I will be reading here frequently in the future. I am thinking about studying chinese + economics and this is a good resource for finding out more than the “standard” stuff. Thanks!
Hi Jian Shuo Wang,
You might remember me contacting you previously. I am currently at The University of Melbourne, and I am writing my thesis on consumerism in China.
I just wanted to ask you if I could use some of your IKEA photos in my thesis?
Thanks,
Adrienne

I think IKEA sucks. A lack of customer service and democratic procedures.
I kind of agree with ‘Jun’. My experience is that a little percentage of their furniture is worth buying. I heard that Shanghai Ikea employees do not buy their furniture where they work but rather go to see local factories such as http://www.link-j-furniture.com
From globalisation to localisation…
IKEA’s furniture are great! They’re cheap and last long. Yes, i’ve tried to go to one of those local factories….stuff that lasts 2 months and then is good for the fire-place. Cheaper…sure…but what a pain re-buying every second month.
