Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall

Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall is at People’s Square, and it is a must visit place for many travelers. Typically, you should spend a day at Shanghai Museum and Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. Here are the pictures I took before.

  1. Hi, I just visted this museum. I went in 1999 and just went again during another Shanghai visit. I especially enjoyed the virtual reality display which emulated flying around different parts of Shanghai, including the future 2010 Expo site. Can’t miss it!

By the way, I have an off topic mobile phone question, maybe someone has seen this problem. I have a Siemens CF62t that I bought unlocked in the US. I use it with T Mobile with no problems in the US. It’s 900/1800 so I figured it should work with China Mobile too. Last visit I noticed that sometimes it worked for calls and sometimes not. When it’s not working, when I dial the call it makes a quick 4 tone sound then hangs up. This time, I noticed that it works 100% of the time in Pudong, and 0% of the time in Puxi. But if I go farther west, past Hongqiao, it works. Today, when driving into the Yanaan tunnel from Puxi, it did not work, but as soon as we entered the tunnel it worked. Another clue, SMS always works, even when voice does not work.

I tried resetting the phone, and also verified that nothing is barred. It’s very strange that it works in some places but not others. I also tried changing the SIM card with my friend in Puxi – my SIM card worked in his phone, but his SIM card failed in my phone the same way. So it’s definitely phone related.

Has anyone seen this? any idea?

    thanks,

    Gregor

  2. my visit there five years ago was a bit disappointing even for someone working in construction, it feel like a propaganda more than a useful info.

your pictures look promising with all the new update on the bund and expo site, may be i give the place one more try.
