Wayback Wangjianshuo’s Blog

I didn’t remember I have blog interface like this onNov 25, 2002, and I have no idea about the first version of Wangjianshuo’s blog like this: Sep 22, 2002. I even have page like this on Mar 27, 2003. All these interface looks so nice to me. I wonder if they are even better than my current design. :-D

Thanks to the WayBackMachine, the Internet Archive to keep record of the history of the website for me, otherwise, I guess the design will got lost permenantly and I will never have a chance to review those old designs. The Internet Archive even keep almost all the link clickable and you can see the content of the whole website on that day!

  1. Yes. We can see all the previous versions of the giant corporations’ webites such as IBM. You will not be surprised how the first version of IBM’s webite looks like.

  3. I like the first version of your blog (like the one on Sep 22, 2002). It has smaller font, nicer colours and looks much more mature than the current one.

  4. I have the same feeling as nirmalya, at least about some features of that layout.

If you ever consider redesign the homepage, perhaps listing recently commented entries instead of (or in addition to) recent commentors would help by indexing more posts. As it stands now, you have more than 40 comments in a busy day, and many might be about the same post.

  5. Thanks for your comment. I also feel the need to redesign the website. I’d like to know more comments on how I can improve the interface. It seems the change to bigger font does not seem to be a right move. What do you think? Do you prefer the smaller font (Verdana 10pt?) over the current default large font (verdana 12pt?)
