Put Google Search into Inside My Site

Google is innovaite. They allow my to put Google result inside my own page. This feature was released early August, so I can take advantage of this offer.

Let me write down the parameters of this configuration. Please note: This entry is archived under "backstage " and is intended to be read only by me and people who are interested in how this site works.

Search Type: Google WebSearch + SiteSearch
Enter up to three URLs for SiteSearch: home.wangjianshuo.com
Length of text box: 20 characters
Customize the type of search results I get to my site content: Yes
Choose a profile: articles
Site Language: English
Opening of search results page: Open results within my own site
Enter URL where search results will be displayed: http://home.wangjianshuo.com/archives/20060120_search_this_site.htm
Your site encoding: ISO-8859-1
Search Results Style: Seaside

It's cool they now actually allow you to put the results in your own site, that way visitors can still remain on your own website while they use google to search your site.

I am wondering.. this part: value="GALT:#008000;GL:1;DIV:#336699;VLC:663399;AH:center;BGC:FFFFFF;LBGC:336699;ALC:0000FF;LC:0000FF etc etc... I'm not entirely sure but is that for the colors? It looks like these are hex color codes.. I it would be shameful if the colors were not adjustable to fit in someones site exactly as they have their layout.

But still, if someone has some coding knowledge in asp, php or some other scripting language with databases and such, I would suggest they made their own search engine for their pages.. I think it could look prettier :)

Very interesting, I tried to implement this code.. changing obvious permaeters but results always loaded in your pages! I searched google to see where this development was documented, but could not find it. URL?

I added the code and changed all the obvious stuff and when I try to search it says FORBIDDEN Your client does not have permission to get URL /custom? What do I do?
