After much traveling through China, I can confidently say that Beijing airport is the worst design of an that i've seen throughout china and across North America
Posted by: t on August 19, 2004 1:57 PMWell, t, why? It is definitely not the worst design in China, although you can argue whether it is among the worst in all airports in LARGE cities in the world.
I like the design and it is sometimes more convinient than Pudong Airport. Some old airports in China, even in major cities like Chengdu and old Guangzhou airport, even look like a crowded rail station. Fortunately, some of them have been rebuilt.

Airport is a venue for travellers to use as a transit point, convenience is paramount to the travellers.
When you compare PEK to O'Hare in Chicago which consists of 3 terminals, 9 concourses and the perimeter is over a mile wide. I perfer PEK over O'Hare in convenience.

Posted by: Stephen on August 20, 2004 12:37 AMWell Stephen,
Chicago O'Hare has flights taking off every 30 seconds compared to the 10 flights a day PEK deals with and STILL messes up. Now, what has design got to do with efficiency???

can you tell me which part of the airport made you so insatisfactory?
