Songjiang
I heard about the University city in Songjiang. Driving along the Caobao Rd., Husong Rd, I get there after one and half hour - actually, it should only take 50 minutes, but the terrible traffic jam at the Zhongchun Rd. intersection held us there for about 40 minutes. The new campus is very beautiful - we were so impressed to see the completely new buildings there. At least four universities has moved or expanded there from their campus in downtown.

My First Ticket
I got my first ticket today at the Chongqing South Road. The roads in Shanghai is so confusing - there are so many single pass roads along with time-based pass roads. Taking Chongqing Road S. as an example, only cars with odd plate numbers can pass on Mon, Wed, Fri and those with even numbers can only pass on Tues, Thur, Sat. :-( I learnt this when I entered the road and saw the notice, under the notice was the policeman.

What an interesting way to control traffic! I could never survive with that sort of system, especially in a country where I could not read the signs!! Too bad about the traffic ticket, but such is the price of your progress (from a bike-riding or pedestrian life only). University City looks like a wonderful place, and it must be very stimulating for the academic world to be able to concentrate so many of their resources in one area. I don't think we have anything like that anywhere in the US, and it seems like a great idea.
Jian Shuo, I don't know if you automatically find out about comments that are added quite a long time after you originally post an entry, but I put a message about your wedding back at the "Big Fat Wedding" entry a while ago. No problem if you don't care to comment back regarding my questions, but I just want to be sure you don't miss the congratulatory hugs that were included!

It is a very interesting topic and I was planning to create an article for it. :-) Sorry for kept you waiting. For many questions, the answers will be delayed because I want to prepare a more details answers to it.
:-) No problem about "keeping me waiting", Jian Shuo. I'm sure the rest of your story will be worth waiting for, and my comments were *very* long (sorry about that)! I just wasn't sure, if too much time goes by, whether new comments to old articles get noticed, and am glad to know you found the hugs.
