Foggy Shanghai

Heavy fog hit Shanghai this morning. Outside my window, it was all white. It is among the heaviest fog I have experienced in Shanghai. Visibility is less than 20 meters.

According to Sina Shanghai Channel, elevated highway, Hong Qiao Airport, shuttle ships on the Huang Pu river, and express ways were closed this morning.

Visibility in Hangzhou was also really limited today, although I don't think it was fog- unfortunately, it seemed a lot more like pollution. I don't know why, but over the past week the air quality here has been really bad (the week before was beautiful).

Heh. Be glad it is just foggy. Here in Ithaca, N.Y., it's just snow everywhere. And so cold you could probably use the outdoors as a refridgerator if you don't have one. (Actually, in the 40s-50s [I think, I'm bad with history] people did use their garage as refridgerator since back then fridges were not that common).

The joke here at Cornell among my friends is that we *want* global warming to happen... ;-)
