Train from Shanghai to Nanjing

Many people asked me for suggestion to visit other places by train. It is a FAQ, and I finally found out the train schedule (in English). Please check out this sample. You will see how frequent the train from Shanghai to Nanjing is. If you check out this table, there are 53 trains leave Shanghai and go to Nanjing every single day! The duration appears not be calcualted correctly eg:

Hi Jian, In 2 weeks I am coming to Nanjing from Boston. These trains from Shanghai to Nanjing, are they from the Main station or from south station? Thanks for the info. Great site, by the way.

@Joe, it SHOULD be at the Shanghai Main Station, not the South Station. As far as I know, there is no train to Nanjing from South Station. However, always check the ticket to make sure where you are going...

there are many new D train shanghai to nanjin.the d train is fast,about 2 hours.

I'll be traveling to from Shanghai to Nanjing on Tuesday, March 19th. Does anyone know the easiest route to take (bus or train)? I'll be traveling alone and I want to get there as safe an uncomplicated as possible.

Hi.

just wondering if I can buy the ticket for T178 at 20:52 on the day? Cuz I heard we havta get there in early in the afternoon otherwise we wont be able to get ticket for the day. I'll get to PDV at 6.30, and need to get to nanjing before the next morning. which way of transport would you suggest me to take? Im thinking train but Im worried I cant find my way around...
