Hi Jianshuo
Do you know a road map where the new expressways SE of Pudong is shown ?
Even the 2005 Shanghai map (the red one) doesn’t have that.
I think of how many other mistakes there are in the maps…
The new expressway may not be finally completed – the one conneting A20 (with entrance near the Long Yang Road Station, and the East Sea bridge. It was numbered as A4, I guess.
My favourite blog on the net : Jianshuo’s blog. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY
a very interesting list, extremely detailed! So how does the wireless at Starbucks work? It took me well over a day to finally figure out the process in BJ but by the time I did and realized the costs, I just gave up…
Nice idea. Just added my own list http://www.chinasnippets.com/pivot/entry.php?id=53
Excellent site, you’ve inspired me to make a similar top ten list for Shenzhen, BTW I used to work for Microsoft on Xbox before moving to China……
That’s Great! I like this blog!
Hey Jianshuo,
I added my favourites into my blog as well. Have a look at this page http://ksquare.blogspirit.com/archive/2005/03/01/my_favorites_in_shanghai.html
Desmond, please let me know your blog link. I grew up in Shenzhen and only moved to Shanghai last year.
Cheers,
K.

I’ll have to get started on my list, but why (Jian Shuo & Micah) are the 926 and 136 your favorite busses? I guess for the moment, mine would be the Ru Er, which used to take me to two places where friends taught on Long Dong Da Dao (SMIC and a fancy-looking private high school; now all have moved on, but one….) and a few that got me around to places near Xu Jia Hui(but , again, I’ll have to check notes…it’s been 2 1/2 years). According to the scale, I should probably start taking the number 11 bus again… :-)
What I really liked about Shanghai was the high concentration of bookshops in the city-Fuzhou Road in the district that used to be known as Wenhuajie (Culture-and-Education Streets). This wonderful area full of excellent bookstores and shops makes it obvious that the book and magazine printing industry in modern-day China is well-established and vibrant.
