It is amazing to see 6 more metro lines will be constructed in the near future. Currently, more than 100 metro stations are being constructed at the same time. More
In the afternoon, just before I left the office, we talked about the accident happened in Shanghai Metro yesterday. I didn't know that until people told me.
A young man was stuck in the middle of the Metro door and the glass door on the platform. Since th door didn't havoc sensor installed (Caution!!! Terrible to know that), the train started, and the man was squeezed to death immediately.
It is horrible. After many accidents that people was stuck in the middle, this is the first time metro caused death.
It is reported that the man carried 0.29g of drug. Many people don't believe it, at least friends I chatted today, and believe it is the way the Metro Corp. remove responsibility from themselves.
My guess is:
1. The Metro Corp is trying to get out of this.
2. The drug rate in Shanghai has reached a critical mass, that drug can be found in a rare accident like this.
I tend to believe the former answer.
It is soooo... bad. Much worse than the typo in Metro.
So, do take care More
Remember the English Instructions in Yantai? I saw some worse case, in Shanghai. If the Yantai is not a very big city so the mistakes of the English translation is just funny, the same thing happens in the bigger city Shanghai is sad. It is even worse if it is in the Metro Station where more than 1 million passengers every day!
I posted the exciting news of the new look of the guidance board at Xujiahui Station. It looks much brighter and the directions are clearer. See the pictures below:

Typos
However, when I read the direction board closely, I found there are so many typos in the English spelling. I guess there are more than 50 boards in Xujiahui Station alone, but I didn't find any board which is completely free of typos. This news is astonishing, isn't it?

Errors
I took pictures of some of the boards, and pointed out the problems.

There are so many metro lines under the city. There are some huge transition stations with as many as 4 metro lines. This will be a huge change to the city.
Metro is the nature part of my life already. Xiao Li described the close feeling with the Metro in this entry: the Metro (Chinese site) Good article! More
