This is maybe the headquarter building for American companies. The Portman Ritz-Carlton Hotel is in the middle tower, and office buildings on the west and east wings, and many shops and airlines on the lower shopping mall. Australia visa office is also there. 168 Lujiazui West Road

I visited one Internet cafe about half an year ago and wrote a report (I could not find it on this site. Strange). I visited another one yesterday, as part of my goal to dive into the details of Internet in China. Here are some photos.

Internet bars, just as the Internet users in China, are highly diversed. There are very cheap bars with bad environment, there are also great bars like this. It is like a 5 star hotel facility. :-)
I wrote an article about the mapping of current Internet situation to the Internet history of America. The article was widely quoted, and it is the first article I wrote appearing at the home of furl.com and the most popular link page on del.cio.us today. I didn't expect that. Some people challenged the idea of visiting Internet Cafe. World Famous Brands
They have North Face, Diesel, Nike, Rolex, Gucci, Prata, etc. Since China has been the manufacture base of world famous brand cloths, the cost of the famous cloths are actaully very low compared to their market price. I believe they are so cheap becaues some of the cloths are knock-offs or factory seconds. Others are just the original goods but got to the market via unknown channel. I guess they should not be allowed to be put on market with the Nike's brand but with the out-of-factory price.
Anyway, you can get the finest quality with surprising price there. The sweater should be around 100 RMB (12 USD) and a pair of good shoes should be 100-150 RMB (12 - 20 USD). The North Face cloths should More
