I have to admit the best way to get back energy after working for a long time is to give ourselves a pause, and get away from work.
Now, I am sitting in the quiet office, one hour before everyone comes. I will list this as one key happiness items - it allows you to concentrate, and wandering in the office to see where you can improve this important place.
I am back, and I am fully refreshed. Thanks for the long Yangshuo, Guilin trip. It seems I should arrange more? Work + Pause is actually more productive than continuous work.

looked like a great trip. liked your comment about appreciating the luxuries of a 4/5 star hotel (especially with kids) but fondly remembering the days backpacking and living simply before kids. Karen and I feel the same way. We remember backpacking around in Guatemala, traveling on public buses with chickens on them!
Posted by: elliottng on March 30, 2009 12:24 PMYes. I think we need to develop a diversified preference. I am flexible enough to stay in 5 RMB per night rooms, as I did in my 30N 119E trip, or places at 1000 RMB per night. I am fine with both. Some people hate to stay in cheap places, while others think all those guys living in 5-star hotels don't know how to enjoy life. I think both are partly wrong.
"Work + Pause is actually more productive than continuous work." I agreed very much!

Posted by: kbguy on March 30, 2009 7:26 PMMr Jian Shuo Wang,
just some suggestion. Seems like Qing Ming festival is around. I just wonder if you can blog something about this. How the chinese celebrate this occasion. I just wonder are we doing the same as the oversea chinese ? For us, the festival already starts and lots and lots of chinese visits the grave to do the cleaning. And the family members far and near come back for this once a year celebration.I will blog about this soon with some pictures.
I just wonder a country with so many chinese as China.. how did they do it. Do you have public holiday for this festival ? We don't.
Relax is so important for a person who always constrate on work. It will give you more energy to go back job.
Posted by: Melody on March 31, 2009 12:00 AMHmmm... Interesting topic suggestion about Qing Ming. I will think about although it was not in my plan, since I don't do anything here in Shanghai normally.
