Photos of Yangshuo, Guilin

Here are more photos of the trip with very brief note. I am here in Shanghai. Immediately after I get off airplane, I headed to Shangri-la for a meeting, and there are two meetings near the Pudong Shangri-la and Starbucks tomorrow. I already noticed the big difference - I feel excited about the upcoming meetings - that is the benefit of a vacation.

Below: the lobby of Yangshuo Youth Hostel. We reserved this hotel but later cancelled it. It turned out to be a nice and quiet hotel.

The Yangshuo Shiwaitaoyuan 世外桃源 (they translate their name to "Shangri-la", which I don't think is a proper name).

They have live performance - there are people act as native people.

This lady is NOT an actor - I love the natural feel of the village

That is indeed a grat-looking youth hostel -- and the cave is really amazing! Would you have preferred to see it without all the artificial colored lighting, or did that add something desirable to the experience?

Hmmm... I am not sure. I never saw a tourist place with a cave without the artificial colored lighting. I would say, I still prefer it, since it is just like many of the things people make out of stones - stone itself is just stone, but people carve different shapes out of it, so we do with the tree roots - to create some nice thing and place it into the room. The stone will look very differently without the color.

I also like a quiet stone without any light - that is even better, but it is the beautify of mysteriousness.
