Integrity in China
By Jian Shuo Wang on 2010-08-08 17:00 · CultureMy previous post on Integrity of Resume received some very nice comment. That leads me to continue to the discussion about integrity environment in China, and what we can do about it.
It is Impossible to Stay Integrity
It is a shocking conclusion, and I am aware of how much effort I am going to spend to clarify this conclusion without being accused as dishonest person myself.
Universally Hard to Define Honesty
Just as the dilemma philosophers face to define justice, honest is hardly defined. As one of the joke implied:
When asked whether a president’s mom have ever lied in her life by a rude reporter, she said, “Often, just like I said ‘Glad to meet you’ few minutes ago”.
In a comic movie about the matter, The Invention of Lying (2009), at the beginning, to illustrate the issue, a girl said the truth with great sincerity to a mom: “Your baby is so ugly! He looks like a little rat!”
Consequences of Lying
We are not talking about the jokes. We are talking about serious issues about fake resume, stealing, and profit from lying.
