Shall I Mention People's Name in Blog?

There are always choices when writing a blog, especially a blog that have many readers from different part of the world. The key, I believe, is to keep consistent for the chioces all the time. Frequency is a choice. My choice is (try) to keep it up everyday. Topic is another. I (try to) write only those things related to life, instead of too much technology or business, so it is not that boring for non-tech people and don’t reveal too much things people consider to be a secreate for business.

Now the question is, shall I mention people’s name in blog?

My previous rule (the last 3 year rule) was:

I do not mention anyone’s real name (sometimes using a nick name) unless:

  1. The person agrees to reveal his/her name

-or-

  1. The person has already got a blog in his/her real name - so he/she understand what blog is and agreed that it is OK to reveal the name on the web.

I believe it is still the rule for the years to come. I just feel that I wasn’t proactive enough to practise this rule as much as before. I checked Scoble’s blog and found he had the courage to note down all people’s name and what they are doing. It is quite interesting and people seems like it.
