Some Ideas on SEO

Just note some ideas that may help to dramatically drive volumns to a site - while not neccessarily be the best way.

Basic Idea

Users may use a lot of different keywords to come to this site, but most keywords we don’t know or don’t have time to create a page around it.

Meanwhile, it is the most frequently used words people search, instead of our words.

We can see these words in the access log.

Case study

A visitor from 24.229.24.61 (nslookup)

arrived from www.google.com sattelite images 1-10,

and visited home.wangjianshuo.com/archives/20030529_aerial_picture_of_anyplace_in_us.htm

at 02:19:04 PM on Sunday, September 25, 2005.

This visitor used Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.0.3705; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Media Center PC 3.1).

In this case, users are interested in keywords: sattelite images. Please note, that *satellite * is misspelled, but it does not matter.

My approach will be create a new page named:

http://bbs.wangjianshuo.com/sattelite_images.htm

This page will rank very high in Google since it has the keywords in its URL if external links are placed in the right way.

On this page, we have the following content:

  1. Title of the page user previous arrived: home.wangjianshuo.com/archives/20030529_aerial_picture_of_anyplace_in_us.htm

  2. Except from the page. This way, it does not create a replica of the original page.

  3. Since there are may be much more content other than this page on this website that meets the demand, it may be a good idea to search for the sites to get more information, like to include related pages to this page.

  4. Links to other pages.
